Before you arrive — a few things worth knowing

What’s included in each tour

Alex's expertise, the route, the stories, and a pre-tour orientation.

Good to know before you book

Subway fare, museum entry fees, and lunch on the full-day tour are not included in the price. For each tour, you'll receive a confirmation with everything you need to know — including a realistic sense of what to budget for extras.

Booking is simple. Pick your tour, choose a date, and pay online to secure your spot. All tours are capped at twelve people.

Have a specific group, a particular interest, or a slice of New York history you've always wanted to understand properly? Alex works with families, friend groups, alumni groups, and anyone else with a genuine curiosity and a good reason to want something tailored.

Private tours start at $400 and are priced according to group size and duration. Get in touch to discuss what you have in mind.

Where to meet

Each tour has a designated meeting point, confirmed in your booking. Plan to arrive fifteen to twenty minutes before departure. That time is part of the experience. It's when the group meets, Alex sets the scene, and everyone gets their bearings before the city takes over.

Running late

If something goes wrong on your way, text Alex. He'll send you the next meeting point and you can join the group there.

Getting around

Tours involve a combination of walking and subway. If you'd prefer to avoid the subway entirely, that can be arranged. Just mention it when you book and we will work something out.

Weather

You'll receive a weather update by text the day before your tour. New York weather is what it is, so dress for it. Tours run in rain and cold. They do not run in genuinely dangerous conditions, in which case you'll hear from Alex directly.

All participants should be comfortable with sustained walking. If you have specific accessibility needs, please get in touch before booking so Alex can advise honestly on what's possible.
